The Snake Pit Grappling Series is a submission-focused Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu event hosted at Cobra Thai MMA & Fitness Academy.
Built around fast-paced, finish-oriented matches, the series is designed to showcase grapplers who come to hunt submissions, not play the scoreboard.
Our format keeps things simple, fair, and exciting for both athletes and spectators.
✔ Submission-only matches
✔ Clean, easy-to-understand rules
✔ Structured overtime to guarantee a winner
All matches follow a submission-only format.
Match time:
8 minutes
There are no points and no advantages.
The only way to win in regulation time is by submission.
If no submission occurs during the 8-minute regulation match, the bout moves to overtime positions.
Each athlete is given a chance to attack from a dominant submission position.
The objective is either to submit the opponent or escape as quickly as possible.
Full overtime procedures will be explained during the pre-event rules briefing.
An athlete wins by:
✔ Submission during regulation time
✔ Submission during overtime rounds
✔ Fastest escape time during overtime
Matches in the Snake Pit Grappling Series always produce a winner. If neither athlete secures a submission in overtime, the competitor with the fastest recorded escape time will be declared the winner.
Full overtime procedures are explained during the pre-event rules briefing.
Referees have full authority to:
• Pause action for safety
• Restart athletes in neutral positions if the action stalls
• Stop matches if injury risk becomes excessive
Athlete safety and fairness are always the top priority.
